• The North American Brown Bear, more commonly
Known as the Grizzly Bear is one of the largest and most
power mammals in North America. In some regions, this
amazing creature can weigh up to 1,000 pounds! They spend
their summers fishing, and their winters sleeping. That
doesn't sound too bad at all!
• Grizzlies have a
lifespan of 20 - 25 years in the wild, but can live up to 44
years in captivity!
• Alaska has largest
population with 30,000 Grizzly Bears. British Columbia has
about 15,0000 Grizzlies. Montana (800), Wyoming (600), and
Idaho (100).
• Grizzly Bears do not hibernate
and can eat up to 90lbs daily!
• The
identifiable hump on the Grizzlies back is a large muscle
used to power its front legs.
